Dr. Sreelata Ghosh Choudhury
Completed her P.G. Diploma in Personality & Adjustment, Principles of Guidance and Counselling, Stress Management from Annamalai University and PHD in Effect of Counselling in Placement of the Disabled.( OH ) . Tests used in thesis include Anxiety, Depression, Hopelessness, Acceptance of Disability, Ego Strength, Locus of Control from Calcutta University. Her field of specialization includes Counselling and Guidance, Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, Clinical Psychology, Special Education, Training of Teachers, Placement of PWD and Community Based Rehabilitation. She has 20 years experience in Counselling. She is one of the panel of experts of National Open School under Ministry of Human Resources. She is working in our Omkar Institute of Advanced Medical Sciences & Disability Research Institute (OPD) as a clinical psychologist since 2016.
completed his Basic Neuro Development Therapy from South African Neuro Developmental Therapy Association, Johannesbarg, Republic of South Africa and has been trained as an Neuro Developmental Therapist (NDT). He is a Paediatric Neuro Developmental Therapist working in our Child Developmental Centre for last two years. He has also completed advanced level- II NDT courses on Movement Analysis and Facilitation of Athetosis child and Advanced Upper Extremity management and Treatment training for children from Neuro Developmental Treatment Association, USA.
She is MED with specialization in Specific Learning Disabilities [SLD] from the Department of Special Education of SNDT Women’s University, Juhu, Mumbai ans a M SEN [Masters in Special Educational Needs, a European Union Programme] from Roehampton University London, Fontys Hogeschool Tilburg (The Netherlands) and Charles University Prague. Her more than 10 years of experience has made a her a specialist in conducting assessments and planning remediation programmes for children with SLD and carrying out the remedial programmes with the help of collaborative activities with parents, other home resource persons, schools and professionals in the multidisciplinary team.
Mr. Jewel Chakraborty
A Master of Physiotherapy, Mr. Jewel Chakraborty is working in the field of Physiotherapy & disability for last 11 years. He is certified in Ayer’s Sensory from University of Southern California, USA and is trained in SIPT (Sensory Integration & Praxis Test) to access children with sensory dysfunction. While working in CDC AGH, Kolkata he also developed interest in ICF (International Classification of Functioning) coding of children with cerebral palsy.
Meenakshi Khorana Saha
She is the new name in our expert panel of therapists. She is a Masters in Psychology and has recently joined Society as a Family Therapist and Counseling Psychologist. Her area of specialization includes counseling children, counseling adolescent, parent counseling & family counseling, therapeutic intervention, assessments (WISC-V and Abbreviated Conners), giving support and training on puberty related issues of children with special needs.
He is associated with Society for Welfare of Children for last two years. Gayen Sir is a popular name amongst the little hearts of our society. Mr. Gayen is a NIOH alumni and currently one of the most experienced occupational therapists in Kolkata and in Eastern India. He is a certificate holder on The Sensory Integration perspective (Professional Development Programme) from The University of Southern California, Division of Occupational Science and Therapy and Western Psychological Services.
She is a competent psychologist and special educator. She is also trained as the Cogmed coach certified by Peason India. She has been associated with Society for Welfare of Children for two years as a play therapist.
Mrs. Sunita Agarwal
A certified vision therapist, Mrs. Sunita Agarwal has also been awarded a certificate by Indiana University for completing certification process of Orbis International. She is currently a member of Indian Association of Pediatrics. Mrs. Agarwal has made professional presentations at a number of hospitals and medical institutions. She made a poster presentation at the recently concluded Asia Pacific Optometry Congress at Seoul in October 2013. She is associated with our CDC for last two years.
She has done her masters (M.A. (Edu) from Netaji Subhas Open University and PG Diploma in Teaching Children With multiple Handicaps (DTCMH) from J.U. (1993-94)in collaboration with I.I.C.P. She has completed B.Ed. (SEDE-MR) from Netaji Subhas Open University. She is a Professional with 22 years experience in Special Education, Parent Training and Counseling. She has done her training on i)Autism Spectrum Disorders for Course Coordination, (ii)Strategies for Using Integrated instruction, (iii)Strategies for Facilitating Communication in Children with Mental Retardation or Hearing Impairment. (iv) Strategies for Developing Instructional Aids.
